language incompatibility when installing xp ugrade

I'm trying to install windows XP HE over ME and I get a
message saying the language for installation is
incompatible- can anyone help...........

Thanks Carey I realise that but is there a way around
it. Both windows ME and XP were bought locally here in
Australia. Is there a way I can find out what langauge
is being used in each version.
