I am running xp home edition, I can connect to my the internet using my
wireless connection with no problem, however when i plug in with a to my
router with a cable, it shows to be connected, but i cannot access the
internet. I have tried using Firefox and also IE, I have checked the
settings but nothing seems to help

Please provide "ipconfig /all" from when you're connected by Ethernet, and when
you're connected by WiFi.
