Lan password

Maybe someone in here could help me with this problem.
First off i'm using Windows XP Pro and i have just setup two computers via
the Lan ports so that i could setup my own network, I have them talking to
each other and sharing my broadband just fine so here are my problems.

1) I have setup my network and called it "Home Network" however when i click
on it, It takes a while for it to come up only to ask me to enter a
password. I have disabled the following... "Computer Configuration / Windows
Settings / Security Settings / Local Policies / Security Options
Double click on Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to
console login only" but it still asks for a password i have done this on
both pc's.

2) On one of my pc's i have installed a 10/100/1000 card so it is the same
as my other on board Lan connection on my other pc.
I can disable the lan connection on the on board pc but i can not do it on
the other it says "It is not possible to disable the connection at this
time. The connection may be using one or more protocals that do not support
plug and play, or it may have been initiated by another user or the system
account."
the card is uses the same drivers as my on board Lan which is "Realtec
rtl8189/8110 family gigabyte ethernet nic".

Thanks to anyone that can help, Tel.

how did you connect them together? did you do the home network setup wizard
or did u just hook them up on to your adsl router and assign them an IP
address? i find that setting it up manually and not bothering using the
wizard is easier and more robust. give me a hoot if you need help.

Do you have your Guest account enabled under Accounts: Guest account status

and

have Guestly only - local users authenticate as Guest.under Network Access:
Sharing and security model for local accounts.

do you have the same account setup on both machines. Are their IP's in the
same subnet.
