Hello

after solving the problem with the wrong shell variable in the registry
I did all the Windows Updates that were availiable.
(including installing IE6 instead of 5.0)

I rebooted the PC like Windows Update asked me in the last dialog box
but after rebooting I wasn't able to connect to the internet anymore. I
figured out that my network card doesn't show up when I type ipconfig in
a CMD prompt.

If I run "ipconfig /renew" I get a message like "No TCP/IP is configured
for DHCP". If I type "ipconfig /all" I only get my basic computer info
(computername and stuff, nothing about a network card)

Soem thiongs I tried to solve the problem:

I removed TCP/IP protocol from the NIC, rebooted and then installed it
again.

I removed the NIC from Device Manager, rebooted and let it install again
from original cd.

I disabled DHCP and filled in a valid IP and gateway (i'm using a DLINK
router DI-604)

Still nothing shows up when I type "ipconfig /all"

When I enable DHCP again, nothing changes...

Mention this: when I lookup the status it says "Connected 100mb full
duplex" but send and received packages stays at 0.

anyone?

PS: I also tried "save mode with network", but nothing changes.

Always check Event Viewer for errors as well. This article may help.
