LAN-Connection Problem after XP + SP2 Re-Install

Guest

Hi all,

after format and re-install XP + SP2 I have problem with my LAN-Connection,
it reported "limited or no connection and need new IP-addres". After that I
tried with "repair connection" and the answer is "call the admin for
support..." I have also problem with Antivir-Program, somehow SP2 disabled
Antivir. Could somebody help me ?
I am beginner, not advanced learner and need tipps for dummies in this case.
My computer: motherboard Intel D865PERL, Pentium P4 2.4 GHz 512 KB RAM, ATI
Sapphire Radeon 9500 Pro
Thanks in advance !

Best regards
Esge

sounds to me like
A: you do in fact have a network card issue.
try installing a pci network card.
B: your crappy retail version of a router isn't letting go of the ip.
reset the router or if it's a wifi router... put on a password.
C: there is a trojan/viruses lurking behind your crappy firewall and it got
hit before you could install any service packs or a/v after the fresh
install.
D: you got a bad network cable. change the cable.
E: All of the above.
F: Get DesktopBSD or PC-BSD

Additionally,

You might need to re-install the:

Intel Chipset drivers
Network Adapters
AntiVir.
