lagging time for updating pst

I am currently using Outlook 2003 with WinXP Pro SP2.
It appears that when I copy pst from "c:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst" (in desktop
computer), it was not updated. Sometime, I copy the pst file from desktop
to laptop to synchronize between two computers for emails and calendar.
When Outlook was opened on laptop, the contents of emails and calendar were
not current, i.e, older. I see the discrepancy so often. It appears that
there is a lag between the entry of new information and updating of pst
file. I wonder how to synchronize the update pst between two computers.

if you are copying the file and replacing the old one, once the copy process
is finished and you open outlook, it should be using the new pst. If its
not, you are not connecting to the new pst.

ALWAYS make sure Outlook closes completely before copying the file. See if
something here helps: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sync.asp
