Label design - no space between label rows - How?

I have a 8.5 x 11 in sheet of .75 x 1.5 in labels.

There are 14 rows and 5 columns of labels on a single sheet

I've entered the correct margin/dimension information using the label wizard.

When I do a print preview, the columns are correct but the preview shows
only 12 rows. In addition, the rows on label sheet have no space between
them, but the print preview show space between rows. I've tried turning off
visible property where ever I can but it doesn't seem to make any diference.

Can anyone help?

Thanks is advance

Tec,
Pretty hard to say without seeing the label report, but I have an idea...

Use Page Setup to assure that all margins are at your defined printer's
minimum.
Tip: Enter 0" into each margin, and the printer definition will override
the 0" with it's minimum margin settings.

Let's say that all the text controls on your label are the same height.
Select them all, and use Shift/UpArrow to bring the bottom of each
control up... shortening the field height.
Close that new vertical "gap" between the text controls, and also between
the bottom control on the label and the next report section.

Try the labels. No luck? Repeat that process until all 15 labels show
on the report. Often times, there's "slack" space between the text in a
field, and the bottom "skirt" of the text control border. That space that
can be taken up without cutting off the bottom of the text... assuming
you've chosen an appropriate font size for the job and amount of data on the
labels.

Here's a trick I use for labels. I first layout a Rectangle where the
data fields would go. I can easily adjust the hieght and width of that
rectangle until I get the count of labels (Across and Down) that the page
requires. Now I know exactly into what area my text controls must be placed
with "overflowing" in either direction.

Hi Al

Thanks for your reply.

Your Idea of using a rectangle box for troubleshooting helped.

I found out what it was.

I had two fields on the label, top and bottom. In the top field, I had a
multi-line text value using control+enter.

As it turns out, all I needed to do was set the "Can Grow" property to No.

Now it shows all the labels correctly

Thanks again.
