L2TP problem although IPSec is working using certifiactes

Hi,

I managed to create VPN connection between two w2k machines using PPTP.
When I try to use L2TP I got this message on VPN client machine (this
machine has CA installed form which I got certificates) :
Error: 789 "The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer
encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote
computer"
Microsoft states it is a certfifcate problem on client machine (missing or
not properly installed).
The point is I have installed proper certificates (on both computers) and I
made IPSec Policy for ftp conection between those machines.
This policy requires certificate and everything works fine. (I used Network
Monitor and Oakley Log to be sure).
So the question is: how come L2TP doesn't work ? If it were certificate
problem , ftp conection wouldn't work as well.

Thanks, Piotr

Did you try resetting the preshared key you are using to stablish you
L2TP/IPSec Tunnel?
Thanks

No, I didn't, but I got the solution.
I tried to connect using Terminal Services and that's not going to work as
Microsoft says.
