Kudos to NewEgg!

Last week I purchased a new Sapphire video card from NewEgg. It was not
an expensive card, but it was even more of a bargain considering the $15
rebate. It came today, I installed it and it works. I then sat down to
claim my rebate.

Uh-oh. The rebate handler, www.myrebates411.com, looks like they are
"breakage" specialists. Every 2 inches on their web form has bold red
text describing one of the many ways I can screw myself out of "my
rebate." Including this treat:

| Warning! Before clicking the Submit button, recheck the
| Product Model Number above to make sure it is correct!
| Submitting an incorrect model will disqualify your Rebate.

It turns out that the Model Number I need to submit is not even in their
drop-down list. Crap! Contact with myrebates411 is email only, and I'm
not optimistic about a speedy response. Did I mention that I have to
make my claim by the end of the month?

I call NewEgg about a half an hour before they close. A customer rep
picks up right away, and I hope that I can explain my situation cleanly
and calmly. They would be entirely justified in telling me that it's my
problem. They don't. Antoinette hears me, understands me, and credits
my MasterCard for the amount of the rebate.

Kudos.
