Killing hyperlinks in xl'03

Is there anyway to kill a range of hyperlinks (e-mail addresses) in a worksheet other than doing
them individually?

AutoCorrect allows you to have xl ignore a link as you enter it, but I get workbooks from
another source that has the links active when I receive it.
I find it a colossal PITA in that I'm continually firing up my mail client each time I "wander"
into a cell with a link.

I'd really like to turn this "feature" off.

I see that the version is in the subject. I didn't notice it before.

I have the same macro in my personal.xla file for deleting existing hyperlinks.
I'll leave the autocorrect option turned on--I can delete them later if I want.

I like a choice.
Thanks Dave.

While waiting for a response I threw together a macro and put it in my Personal.xls with a
button on my button bar.
I was just wondering if there was a control over this within xl itself.

As I noted in the subject, I'm using xl'03.

I played with the Autocorrect but it appears as though it only allows you to not create the
links if you're entering the values.
I get them from a dl from a master on our mainframe so I can have hundreds at a time that will
all be active links.
The eventual target of these address cells is a mail merge file so, because it's data only, I'm
not wanting the link functionality.

Anyway, you've answered my question.

Again thanks
Regards
Rob

Enter number 1 into an empty cell and copy it to clipboard.
Select the cells where you want to remove hyperlinks
Go to Insert--->Paste Special
Mark "Multiply" in Opration
Press OK

This is probably not the first place to look for a solution. However, the
method is described in the help files supplied with Excel2003.

Thanks Lazzzx.

I'm aware of the various methods, wound up setting up a macro for the users.

I was looking for a specific setting in xl vs. (what I call) a workaround.
Posted the question because I couldn't find anything in the help for what I thought would be a
given.

Again, thanks for the interest.
