kickstart for updated database

We had a temp come in and update our Access database. She made some changes
that are beyond my expertise, such as adding a drop down box for the form.
How can I best learn what I need to know to continue to streamline and update
the database, without it crashing, but not take a class? I know I can search
through these questions but I might pass over something relevant but not
realize it. I have taken a basic and intermediate class in Access but it has
been a while. Any advice is much appreciated.
