kick-out and lost messages

Hi there. MSN 6.2 kicks me out arbitrarily many times a
day on one particular computer. Maybe it also does it on
our other computer, I'm not sure. We have a netgear router
with the latest firmware. When I go to other people's
computers it does not do that.
That's been going on for a few weeks, possibly since I re-
installed windows and MSN on this compyter.
I also have another symptom which is that sometimes,
messages sent to me get lost, but that might be only with
one of my contacts, so maybe it's unrelated.

Now I tried uninstalling MSN and installing version 6.0
but it prompts me to upgrade to 6.2
I also tried 5.0 but I cannot log in.
Then I tired using the Windows Messenger 4.7 as a backup.
It worked but then I used the 6.2 again.
But now, my MSN 6.2 doesn't even wanna log me on, it gets
stuck at the "Signing In...". I really don't know what to
do now, but I'd just like to use this program!

ok now my msn does log in, when when i change my status
to "away" or "out for lunch" or whatever, my cursor turns
into a 1/2 pointer 1/2 hourglass when hovered on the
status+nickname area. and then finally it changes my
status after about 20 seconds.

all of those symptoms are part of the same problem?
If not, which ones arn't?
