keys lag @ installing office 2003

Since I installed Office 2003 the keys lag as I type. I have to hit each key
with exactly the same pressure or it doesn't take. I have tried all the
settings
on my ze4145 hp laptop and find no help. My OS is XP. It is impossible to
type comfortably. I have to type as a child would

Are you sure that this is caused by Office and are you sure you have enough
resources (left) when running Office? For instance; does this also occur
when you have Office installed but type in Notepad? Your issue as stated is
not clea on that.
