Keylogger Stuck in My PC.

Honestly, I've done everything I can think of. I've run virus scans, I've used Ad-Aware, Disc Cleanup, BeClean. Things that my brother has used previously and installed into my computer. There's a game that I play quite regularly, and stupidly, I visited a site and downloaded a file off it. The file contained a keylogger, and I do not remember the name of the file.

I know that reformatting my computer is a way of getting rid of the keylogger, but I personally don't know how to reformat, and I don't want to take it to a professional with exams and such coming up so soon. I want to know if there is a way to find all files downloaded off the internet. Is that possible?
If not, I would love for a few tips or programs that would help an unexperienced dunderhead as myself to get rid of the damned keylogger.

Help?

At first glace I didn't see anythin of importance ... ha, I then had a closer look.

RegistryCleanFixMFC ... is a rouge program, it reports false or exaggerated system errors on the computer. Definitely not required ... typically viruses, spyware, adware and "resource hogs".

I suggest you try and uninstall it or get HJT to 'fix' it.

I also suggest you 'fix' all the following ...

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:6711
I really don't like anything that points to 127.0.0.1 that looks out of contex, and this does ... are your running WebSafe or something?

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {CD292324-974F-4224-D074-CACA427AA030} - (no file)
Unnecessary (deactivated) entry that can be fixed

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {CD292324-974F-4224-D074-CACA427AA030} - (no file)
Unnecessary (deactivated) entry, http://www.vsi.net/ ... not recommended

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [RegistryCleanFixMFC] C:\Program Files\RegistryCleaner\registrycleaner.exe
Crapware ... Definitely not required

O9 - Extra button: Run IMVU - {d9288080-1baa-4bc4-9cf8-a92d743db949} - C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan\Start
Unnecessary (deactivated) entry that can be fixed

O16 - DPF: {DBA230D1-8467-4e69-987E-5FAE815A3B45} -
Check if you know this site and fix it if you do not. Unknown ActiveX-Objects, or ActiveX-Objects from unknown sites should always be fixed.

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{0139A345-021F-48DE-9379-8EBAB60980B2}: NameServer = 207.164.234.193 207.164.234.129
Do you know the IP or Domain? If not, fix this entry.

O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{0139A345-021F-48DE-9379-8EBAB60980B2}: NameServer = 207.164.234.193 207.164.234.129
Again, Do you know the IP or Domain? If not, fix this entry.

Disclaimer: Modifying the registry can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. I cannot guarantee that problems resulting from modifications to the registry can be solved. Use the information provided at your own risk.

Now, cleanup System Restore:

Go to Start / Programs / Accessories / System Tools and click System Restore.

Choose the radio button marked Create a Restore Point on the first screen then click Next.

Give the Restore Point a name then click Create.

The new restore point will be stamped with the current date and time. Keep a log of this so you can find it easily should you need to use System Restore.

Next, go to Start / Run and type: Cleanmgr

Click OK.

Click the More Options Tab.

Click Clean Up in the System Restore section to remove all previous restore points except the newly created one.

I have edited my post ... after another real hard look, note the first entry about 127.0.0.1

Please verify you understand ... and post another HJT log when done.

The log after I fixed the 127.0.0.1 thing.
I don't really understand what the problem was with that, though.
Could you explain that, if it's not too much trouble?

Also, if anything else is wrong in the log, please let me know.

127.0.0.1 is the standard IP address used for a loopback network connection.

This means that if you try to connect to 127.0.0.1, you are immediately looped back to your own machine. </I>I was a little concerned about the other numbers after that address ... sometime you will see something like that set by your ISP, but very rarely.

IP address 127.0.0.1 is also referred to as the local host. You can use a HOSTS file for good, or can also be "hijacked", or used for malicious purposes... some nasties can infect your HOST file and in effect block you from accessing that site.

I see a lot of infected HOST files. ;)

Don't worry too much as HJT also shows any anomalies in the Host file, I saw none in your Log.

Oh, and your log now looks clean to me. :thumb:

Underlined, I underwrite...erm...how da hell do you spell this?
Anyway I confirm if I may!
Also, I am sure 127.0.01 is there just because some1 was playing a hacker :p
I know I did on a similar way :rolleye:
It's harmless.
