I'm currently using an Apple *gasp* USB keyboard on my windows PC. Certain
keys, such as the 'delete' keys are missing however, which prevents me from
using Ctrl+Alt+Del to get to the task manager. Is there something which will
allow me to program another set of keys on my keyboard to yield the same
result? For example, the power button on my keyboard, which serves no use at
the moment, would be a perfect alternative to the three key combination.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Not sure about the Apple keyboard but for about $20.00 to $30.00, you should
be able to buy a standard PC/Windows compatible keyboard, which will have the
missing keys.

You need to be using a conventional keyboard designed to be used
with a PC and not an Apple computer.

It's not the money issue that's the problem, I simply like the feel of the
Apple keyboard. The 'delete' key is not missing persay, it just does not
serve the same purpose.

Check to see if there is any PC compatible software for that keyboard.
You would need keyboard specific software to reprogram whatever keys
could be changed. Note you can get to task manager by right clicking on
the taskbar.

And how would I find that out?

Hello infineonx

I found this when browsing on Google; I haven't tried it and don't know
if it works, but thought it worth passing on:
you can send the 'control-alt-delete' command by using control-option-
period (on the numeric keypad without numlock on {press clear to
disable numlock})

The quote comes from this thread, Apple pro keyboard to PC. It's rather
old but you might find it an interesting read:
http://www.computing.net/mac/wwwboard/forum/2329.html

Regarding your software query, you might look at Applekeys 2, from:
http://www.dieselstation.com/software/

Applekeys 3.0 here (confusingly no relation to the program above!)
http://zquake.frag.ru/misc/applekeys/

Excellent reads, but that has just brought me to my next point. I don't have
PrntScrn or Scroll Lock or some of the other keys on my keyboard, and seeing
how I lack the F13-F15 keys on the keyboard as well (it goes up to F12) how
can I customize some of the keys I'm not using (F7 for example) or
reconfigure them to achieve the same purpose? Oh, and thanks for the tip
about Crl+Alt+. My computer is prone to crashes and often times the Task
Manager is the only thing that can save me.
