The_keyboard_on_my_Inspiron_only_works_in_dos._The_space_bar_in_Dos_doesn't_work_so_I_am_using_the_underscore_for_spaces_and_copying_text_from_dos_prompt._I_tried_to_reinstall_OS,but_the_F2_key_isn't_recognized._I_am_unable_to_access_cmos_and_tell_the_computer_to_reboot_to_CDROM_for_software_reinstall._Dell_says_this_is_a_software_problem_and_currently_won't_honor_service_contract._Any_help/suggestions_are_appreciated._I_have_updated_XP,_firewall,_and_AV_on_my_2.5_yr_old_5100.

Have you tried a different keyboard yet?

For non-working function keys: If the keyboard has an F-Lock key, press and
hold that down during the startup (if you release F-Lock will immediately
turn off again) and then hit F2.
