Keyboard..... USB....

I have a keyboard which has adapter to connect only to USB port. Currently
it is working fine. Lately I have a need to use this USB port for some other
device. I purchased a USB to PS/2(??) port converter.A small piece which
converts the usb to round adapter.....
When i connect as together my computer is not recognising the key board.
Please advice. I am using Win2K.
