Keyboard unable to start up (Code 10) Error!

Hi. Ive just brought alot of new pc components and built my first computer.
Everything is working fine but my keyboard doesnt work half of the time.
When Windows XP 1st booted the Keyboard didnt work. I went into device
manager and looked at the driver with my Mouse and it said "Keyboard unable
to start up (code 10)". I uninstalled the driver and put the same windows
driver plug/play 101/102 standard keyboard driver in and without restarting
it gained fuctionability again but when I reboot the keyboard looses its
functionability and the same problem occurs again.
The keyboard is a Microsoft Internet Keyboard PS/2 connector.
Ive also been into the bios and enabled / disabled usb keyboard.
Nothing appears to work.
The keyboard is about 2 years old and works fine on my other machine which
is 3 years old.
Would the solution be to buy a new keyboard? (or would that be just giving
into the microsoft motive of getting every1 to upgrade upgrade! so they make
more money! who knows) thanks for reading. Please reply.

It may not be the keyboard but it could be the PS/2 connector. If you can
"borrow" any keyboard first, try it out.

Did not know that Microsoft is getting every one to upgrade. I thought it
was technology that was getting people to upgrade!

I have the exact same problem! I have switched keyboards and it still
doesnt work for me either, everytime i reboot, i have to uninstall the
keyboard then run the Add Hardware Wizard. I have just built a new
system too, Athlon 64 based giga-byte motherboard. I am wondering if i
should switch to a USB keyboard. I have done a System file check and it
still happens, i about to throw my keyboard out the window! Please let
me know if you have found a resolution, as i havent

Has anyone figured this out yet. It just started happening to me. It
doesn't seem to matter what keyboard I'm using. The keyboard works
fine in the bios. I haven't tried safe mode yet.
