keyboard problems

Okay, I have an old compaq computer with like a 1.0 ghz processor. I'm
adding new hardware to improve. I've added an msi 6787 ver 1 motherboard
with an intel 2.8 ghz processor. What I'm running into is that the keyboard
won't work so I can boot up. The keyboard will work in the bios, but when it
gets the the screen that says: start windows normally, safe mode, etc. the
keyboard won't let me move up and down. And when I put the cd in and it says
"press any key to boot cd:" I press keys and it won't boot the cd. Does
anyone know what is wrong. It's not the keyboard, cause it works in the
bios, and of course it works on the 1.0 ghz computer.

Hmm.... Ive had problems like this
but Ivé usually thrown out the computer.... but yours is new huh?

Hmm try removing your screen card and ram and trying different ones. I am
presuming your Bios settings are not getting loaded in memory - it's a
problem though that most people blame on the motherboard, so I wreckon you
get it replaced.

Try resetting your CMOS, maybe your Bios software is buggy

oh ,and I dunno if you have actually missed the most obvious - In Bios
settings there is an option for what kind of keyboard you will be needing to
load on system startup , legacyPS2 or USB , some bioses may lock you at
startup if you have the other keyboard as the botting one (but I doubt it)
but this is a flaw of the 90's so I don't hink this is your problem.
