Greetings,

I have the strangest of all problems since yesterday.
My keyboard keys Alt+F1, Alt+F2, ..., Alt+F10 don't work anymore.
Moreover, when I press the key " nothing is shown, but when I press
another key I get the " plus the other key that I pressed. Same for '
and ` keys.

I checked my computer with latest spyware and antivirus software and
found no problems.

I checked services and running processes and nothing seems to be
suspect there.

I plugged in another keyboard and it has the same problems.

I'm at my wits end ... does anybody knows what could be causing this
bizarre behavious and more important how can I fix it without a win2k
reinstall ? I suspect something plugged into kernel's keyboard driver
or something but can't figure out how I can tell if this is the
case...

Thanks in advance,
Andrei

Boot your machine with a Win98 boot disk from www.bootdisk.com,
then check out the various quote characters. If the problem still
occurs then it's caused by your motherboard. If it does not then
it's caused by Windows.

The behaviour of your quote keys is typical for some European
language keyboards. Try one of the many English language keyboard
drivers, if only to see what happens.
