keyboard problem

i have just lost the ability, using my bog standard
microsoft internet keboard to change from large case to
small case with the caps lock button, it works to go up
to large case but have to use the button below it,(with
the arrow pointing upwards on it)to return to small case.
i have unistalled / reinstalled it twice,but no joy,
any clues

thanks cari, it's only 14 months old,
its inconvenient to use ,but butl learn to live with it
if thats the only answer
