Hello,

I just switched hardware with installing over an image of my old
system. And now I do have a strange little behaviour when using my
keyboard: While editing text (anywhere, text editor, file selection
dialog etc.) key combinations like Shift+End don't work. End key
alone puts the cursor to the end of line, Shift+End does nothing
instead of marking text from current cursor to end of line, as
usual. The same with Shift+Pos1and Shift+CursorUp, the other cursor
keys still works. Using original keys or Num block does not make a
difference. This is highly annoying.

My keyboard is a simple new german Cherry (G83-6105) which works
with standard 101/102 keys driver. I don't see any opportunity to
change keyboard layout, keyboard control panel only has tabs for
speed and hardware, I found no way to change the driver and I
don't have a accessibility screen keyboard in my start menu.

Any help available?

Regards,
Thorsten

Thorsten,

* Right-click on My Computer, select Properties > Hardware > Device Manager
* Expand 'Keyboards', right-click your keyboard driver, select 'Uninstall'
* Restart computer, the keyboard driver will reinstall itself

Hello,
* Right-click on My Computer, select Properties > Hardware > Device Manager
* Expand 'Keyboards', right-click your keyboard driver, select 'Uninstall'
* Restart computer, the keyboard driver will reinstall itself

unfortunately this does not change anything. It's the same driver
again, and the problem still exists.

Uninstall the Keyboard via device manager, restart the system.XP will
automatically detect the keyboard.
If that doesn't help then you may try with a different keyboard.

I now found the problem, a tool took over this shortcuts, which
I find is a strange mapping, as these key combinations are very
usefull when editing text. (BTW reinstalling driver this way was
already suggested by Drew and done by me - as posted.)

Is there a way to see, what program has assigned which system
wide shortcut?

Thorsten
