Keyboard not functioning

I'm using an external keyboard for my laptop right now, because the keyboard
on the laptop is not responding to anything. I remember one time I
accidentally found a way to repair this incident, but now I don't remember.
PLEASE help me find a way to get my original keyboard back!

I don't know the answer, but perhaps the info you seek is available at the
manufacturer's website - for example, in their FAQ.

Hi Maureen:

That is the sledge hammer approach. Usually something that simple can be
solved with a few clicks of the mouse, after consulting the laptop user
manual or getting instructions from the manufacturer's website.

System restore is the sledgehammer approach? I've always thought it
could be used rather casually if the problem is recent. There's an
oopsy in the registry, restore to get it back, and hopefully
everything is going again. If not, undo the restore and look in other
directions.

In this case it sounds as though he might make things worse looking
for a repeat of his previous accidental cure.

Since this is a laptop, is there by any chance a setting in the BIOS that
enables you to turn off the built-in keyboard? Perhaps this has been
invoked?
