I have an Optical Desktop Pro, and when I have the Intellitype software
installed, I have an issue in every 3D game (I most noticed this in
shooters, but have confirmed it in a 3D engine RTS) and only 3D games
(does not occur is a 2d sidescroller I tested in, nor does it occur in
windows under normal operations).
The problem has two main symptoms; first, there is a noticeable delay
between hitting a key and having it take effect (up to a second).
Secondly, when I hold a key down, the key repeats for an amount of time
equivalent to the time I held it down, before I can press another key
and have it take effect (the keys do queue up). In some games, this key
repeating locks out the mouse from working!
If I uninstall the Intellitype software, this does not occur. It occurs
with my Nostromo N52 keypad if I have that installed and have
Intellitype installed. It doesn't' matter whether I have the receiver
plugged in by both the PS/2 port and the USB port, or only the USB port.
Presence or absence of Intellipoint software does not appear to have an
effect. Presense or absence of the Nostromo pad does not have an effect
(I uninstalled it for troubleshooting purposes).
The issue only shows up when the intellitype 5.2 software is installed.
(and without it, the extra keys which I bought the kb for won't work)
