Keyboard keys

Can someone please help me!
My computer crashed the other week and I have had to reboot the entire
syetem. Athough the computer works, it has many gremlins.

On my keyboard the @ and " keys are the otherway round, e.g - pressing shift
and 2 gets @, instead of ". I dont even have a pound sign anymore. My
computer cannot find its sound card, and although I am on broadband, scanning
down pages is slow and wavy. Appart from rebooting again, does anyone have
any other suggestions?

I don't know what country you are in, but Shift+2 is "@" on the US
keyboard, so if this is not what is on your keyboard, looks like your
language settings are wrong. Check your language and country are
listed in Control Panel, Regional and Language Options.

You're set to the wrong language. Shift-2 normally produces an @ in
American.

You also need to find a driver for your sound card. And I think you
also need to find the correct driver for your video card. (Xp is using
a default driver, with minimal rendering)

Go into the device manager and report on any Yellow exclaimation or
question marks, or red Xes.

Many thanks to all who suggested the American/English keyboard settings,
this really helped!

I can only get sound to my speakers by connecting my Minidisk player, then
the computer speakers to this. I tried going into device manager, but there
were just a lot of files that could not be opened as they were part of the
computers programming data.

Any other sugestions at all?

Also - my internet works fine (broadband), but when scrolling up/down a
page, it appears 'wavy' and deleting e-mails takes forever, as they collapse
down until they are all gone, any suggestions?

Apart for that, I am now as normal, and can even use my £, ", and # buttons
as normal,

a BIG THANK YOU!

I have the same problem as phil1980, after looking at the language and
regional settings that are still set at English United Kingdom. What else
could be the problems
