Sounds like you have a US keyboard layout. Check the Regional and Language
Options within the Control Panel.

I had this problem onece, all that was wrong was the
keyboard was, that it was configured as an american one,
instead of an english one so that some keys were in the
wrong place. All you have to do is go to controll panel,
double click on the keyboard icon and somewhere there is
a thing that lets you change the confihuration of your
keyboard (eg: from an american keyboard to an english
one) then what you have to do is click on the english or
american (depending what country the keyboard is from
(i'm assuming yours is an english keyboard)) if you
cannot see it click on the add button and
select 'english' from the list, then click OK/Apply.

Note: I've had to type this from memory, as it was a
while ago since I did this and parts of it may be wrong.
If You are using Windows XP, then I'm afraid I dont know
how to swap the keys, Sory
If all this does not work, you can always search the
internet on your problem. :)

I hope I was of some help ^_^
