keyboard input issue

the characters i type don't match the ones that show up on the monitor.

I tried checking the keyboard layout nothing wrong with it.

when i type the A key i get SW!

is my KEYBOARD broken?

It sounds like you have the wrong locale selected. Make sure the correct
country/language is selected in the Control Panel>Regional and Language
Options.

If you have the correct settings, then try a different keyboard.
