Keyboard hang

Keyboard hangs: XP Professional. On a POS system (sirious)
we have a credit card swipe pluged into the PS 2 keyboard
port and the keyboard pluged into the credit card swipe.
Daizy chained to computer keyboard port. Every once and a
while the keyboard will hand and the credit card swipe
will stop working. Sometimes unpluging and pluging the
credit card swipe from the computer PS2 port fixes it.
Sometimes I have to cycle the computer. Anyone have a fix
for this?

There may be insufficient power in the PS/2 port to support the two devices
Use a USB keyboard
