Keyboard Errors on HP and Dell Laptops

I have been having the same keyboard problem on two differnt laptops. One is
an HP Omnibook 4150b and the other is a Dell Latitude CPiA. Both exibit the
same symptoms. When you are using the built-in keyboard, the system will
close out windows or apps as well as sometimes highlighting the entire
portion of a Word doc as though you did Edit\Select All. I've experimented
with BIOS updates and down leveling the BIOS as well. Any clues?

Obviously you have Office...do you also have the language toolbar with voice
recognition installed? If so, make sure that the mic is off or that you turn
off voice recognition.
