Keyboard defaults to US setting on new set up

I have just upgraded my desktop to Windows XP Professional from Win 2000 Pro.
I did a full format of the disk and a clean install. All went smoothly,
except for one thing.

I am based in the UK. I have, of course, a UK Microsoft keyboard. I set all
the regional setting to UK, GMT etc. But, my keyboard acts as if it is in the
US, i.e. the Pound key gives me a hash, the @ key gives me ' and vice versa.
I have re-checked the regional settings and they all seem fine. I do seem to
remember as I was doing the install, though I cannot be sure, that one of the
screens had a refenece to this being a US machine, but I didn't catch it in
time. Surely, I don't have to do another install to fix this do I?

Can anyone help, please? I really miss the Pound sign, in particular.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi

Make sure that all menus & submenus are set to 'English (United Kingdom)' on
all three tabs under Regional and Language Options.

Thanks, Will. Dead simple, when you know how! By the way, Win 2000 is the
1920's compared to 21st century XP.

You're welcome - glad to help. Some of the submenus are sometimes missed in
Regional and Language Options. I agree with you on XP.
