keyboard compatibility

I have a great old 84-key AT keyboard that I've used for
years and want to keep. It works fine with Win98, but my
new laptop (Dell w/WinXP Home)doesn't recognize it, and in
fact sort of freaks out if the keyboard's attached to it
(via PS-2/USB adaptor, as the laptop doesn't have PS2
ports).

Since the keyboard is compatible with Win98, I'm wondering
if there's a driver (or something) that's been changed in
WinXP, that I could somehow add to my XP system so I can
continue to use this keyboard. If so, where would I find
it and how would I add it to the XP system without causing
any collateral damage?

Thx.

Check with the manufacturer for updated XP drivers.
