Hi I have this incredibly annoying problem where the keyboard and mouse
clicking will cease. it lasts for about ten seconds at random intervals.
after the ten seconds everything is normal until it does it again. i am using
Windows XP SP2. i have absolutely no idea where to start with this. it
started around november maybe october. I'm not even sure it has anything to
do with XP but I don't know what else it could be. any support and ideas
would be great

Are keyboard and mouse wired or wireless? Are they connected to a USB
or other port? If wireless have you tried replacing the batteries?

What is the make and model of your computer, the keyboard and the
mouse?

This freeware programme is excellent for getting information about
your computer:

fine for posting small amounts of information into newsgroup messages
longer reports will irritate other newsgroup subscribers.

Hope this helps.

Also i forgot to add that this is a new problem I have been using this PC
for years and within the last 2-3 months this has been occuring. if you need
more info just tell me what other specs you want. And just a thought could
any software installed cause the problem?
thanks

Just an update on the continued problem...

The problem continues unchanged, dispite changing mice, removing old
drivers, reinstalling, Lather-rinse-repeat, etc.

If I thought it would solve the problem, I would consider wiping the hard
drive or even buying a new computer to fix it at this point. But, I suspect
that after a week of reinstalling all my installing softare, downloading and
installing program and windows updates, and setting things the way I use
them. I would have the same problem appear.

Another update;

I've tried using the performance monitor to see if something is taking over
all the processing when this occurs, but found nothing.
