Kerio 2.15 information

I had to change to a newer cable modem and use
automatic IP-address given by the net.

The connection was broken at random times
and I had to reboot my win98se system ten
times a day.

The cable support said it looked like my
computer didn't renew the IP address as it
should, and the reason could be a firewall
program which didn't work as it should.

I stopped using Kerio 2.15 and the problem
was solved.

This is info about Kerio 2.15 which others
can have use for.

I had to find a new firewall which worked
better and after some searching I now use
Zone Alarm Pro, which will turn into
Zone Alarm free after a trial period.

It seems to work perfectly.

Kerio works well with dhcp. Have you added any rules that may have
blocked it?

My cable company (Midco in the midwest) changed their configuration
without notifying users. I ran into trouble with Kerio 2.15 but
investigated what I was blocking that caused the difficulty. I needed
to open port 123 UDP for both in and out, and open port 68 local 67
remote for UDP in. This took some work to track it down, but solved the
connection problems and Kerio 2.15 has worked fine since then.

Thanks, I'll save your message and may try it later,
if Zone Alarm gives me some problems.

I'm too lazy to change anything unless I have to.

I did probably set up rules in kerio which blocked these ports.
