Keeping words together on one line

Hello. I wondered if anyone knew if there is a way to keep words together on one line in Word 2002? I have in the past used another program, and in that all you have to do is hit the "Ctrl" button at the same time as the spacebar to keep two or more words together. This works with keeping both halfs of hyphenated words together as well.

Is there a similar function in Word? I have tried everything I can think of, but cannot find anything. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Val,

CTRL+Shift+spacebar for a non-breaking space
CTRL+Shift+Keyboard Hyphen for a non-breaking hyphen.

Thanks so much Greg! It is great to finally know how to do that function.
