keeping the folder open in window explorer window

John

Is there a way to keep the folders view open in all Windows Explorer
Windows? Right now I have to click the Folders button on the Explorer
Toolbar each time I want to see the folders view on the left of the window.

How can I get it to stay open each time I use the Explorer?

Thanks,
John

John,

"Explorer.exe /e" - opens Explorer with folder pane enabled
"Explorer.exe /n" - opens My computer view.

Type "explorer /e, c:\windows" in RUN box to open Windows folder with folder pane enabled. You can change the parameter (point to a different folder) and create a shortcut for that command.

See if the following Microsoft Knowledge Base Articles can help you
create a shortcut to open Explorer as desired. And if not, post back
with specifics such as the method you use to open Windows Explorer and
exactly what "object" (such as the C:\ drive, a particular folder,
etc.) you would like to view or to be selected.
