Keeping my place on the page

When I'm scrolling through the posts, the list keeps going back to the top
whenever something is received anywhere in the news group. {Every few
seconds}. I can stop this if I keep highlighting a header as I move down the
list. But I also have this same problem when I'm trying to read the posts
and replies. Keeps going back to the beginning of the post and it's a racing
game trying to read everything. Is there a way to prevent this from
happening?

How often do you check for new messages?
Go offline to stop the list from updating.

Check out the "View" settings on the tool bar. Under "Sort By", I have "sent
and sort descending" checked. These settings may cure your problem.
