keeping mail as unread on pop3 server

I have Outlook get my Yahoo mail via POP, but all the email on yahoo
is always "read" I guess since outlook reads it off the server.

Is there any way to keep the email as "unread" on Yahoo?

Thanks

It's a function of the mail server, not outlook - check yahoo's pop3 options
to see if they offer the option to not mark it as read.

Thanks for the reply.

I searched all over yahoo and can't find anything that allows the
emails to be kept as "unread", yet I know people that have that.
Anyone know how to set this up in Yahoo? The way it is now, everytime
Outlook goes through a "send/receive" all my mail on Yahoo is marked
as "read"

Thanks

As far as I can tell, there is no such feature on Yahoo. I've done some
experimentation and find that Yahoo does mark as read messages that Outlook
downloads from the server. It is Yahoo marking them, however, because
Outlook cannot affect server-side behavior.
