Keep the Remote Desktop Configuration

I use a small laptop 800x600 screen to connect to my tower. The tower
uses 1280 x 1024 setting. How can I RDT to the desktop on the tower
return to the icon settings of the 1280 x 1024? The icons are all
over the place after the 800 x 600 laptop connects and disconnects.

Third party icon layout application. Sometime the full software version of
your Video Card driver will have this feature.

(Save and/or restore Desktop Icon positions/layout.)

Create an .rdp file using 1024x768 as the resolution. Save it then edit the
file using Notepad and set the resolution to whatever your real desktop size
is, ie. 1280x1024 or whatever. The parameters to modify are the desktopwidth
and desktopheight parameters. Save the modified .rdp file then click on the
file to start the session with the modified resolution. That works for me
where a desktop PC uses 1152x864 while my client laptop only does
1024x768...

Here is a snippet of an .rdp file for my desktop as an illustration...This
file is on my laptop client...

screen mode id:i:1
desktopwidth:i:1152
desktopheight:i:864

Thanks Al,

That did the job for me. Wish that was a option in RDT as I use it a
lot for a lot of different computers. Something like "Return target to
the original desktop settings?"
