Keep getting Internet Explorer Scripting Errors

J

Joe Blo

When I go a few specific websites, I keep getting Internet Explorer
Scripting Errors.

An error has occurred on a script on this page
ERROR: Permission Denied
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

In Internet Explorer I have the following checked:
Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer)
Disable Script Debugging (other)
I have the following box unchecked
Display a notification about every script error

It is a serious problem as I have a program use internet explorer to
tune into an internet radio station to record a talk radio program and
the scripting error prevents the the program from working.

I even tried the following registry tweak.

Disable the Script Debugger in IE
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

I still get them.
Is there anything else I can do?

Hi Joe Blo :)

Try the following and see if it helps

Script Debugging Problem

Open IE
Tools | Advanced
Under Browings:
Disable Script Debugging - Check it
Display a notification about every script error - Uncheck it
Apply
OK

or...

Click on Start -- Run
Type Regsvr32 softpub.dll
Click OK

and.....

Click Start, Run and type this command
REGSVR32 JSCRIPT

also....

You can try updating your scripting engine. The latest scripting engine can
be found at:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
For 2000 and XP go to
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en

You might also try installing the Windows Script 5.6 for Windows 2000 and XP
if you have not already done so. The install includes a new jscript.dl
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA&displaylang=en

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

I did all of these things:
* downloaded and ran the kellys-korner application
* updated my internet explorer settings as advised
* updated my scripting engine

I still have this problem.
Is there some way to completely deactivate these scripting error dialog
boxes that
keep coming up?
Thanks
