KB884020 interferes with RPC over HTTP?

I installed the hotfix from KB884020 (loopback problems) to allow me to use
my company's SSL VPN. This seems to have broken my RPC over HTTP connection
(which does not require the VPN.) What happens is that Outlook will work and
be connected for a while, and then become unconnected. All outgoing mails
stay in the Outbox, and I don't receive any new mails. The tray icon
constantly shows the exclamation point. If I reboot, Outlook will work again
for a while (30 - 60 minutes) and then this will happen again. If I remove
the hotfix, Outlook is back to normal.

Has anybody else used RPC over HTTP with this hotfix installed?

Thanks,
Rick

I've made this change and rebooted (just to be safe.) I'll let you know if
that solves my problem.

Thanks,
Rick

Yep and it works fine for me. However I implemented the following registry

Outlook seemed to stay connected longer with this registry entry, but it has
now dropped its connection. I am still able to connect to the same server
over OWA.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Rick

None since it could be as simple as poor network conditions at the time the
drop happens.

The network may drop, but I'm able to connect with OWA and Outlook still
doesn't connect.

I guess I will uninstall the Hotfix. Outlook access is more important than
the other things I can get to with the VPN.
