The security update kb835732 is made available for
download everyday on both my XP machines even though I
have previously downloaded and successfully installed
this patch. How do I assure this update was in fact
installed? How do I stop the daily requests for a new
download of the same patch?

Many times this can be corrected by deleting the update and re-installing it.
A corrupt install history file usually causes this.
