Constant reminders to install KB835732

Every time I go to Windows Update, it tells me that
critical update KB835732 is available to install, even
though I have installed it nine times already. I can
remove it from the list of updates to be installed, but
it's annoying to have to remember to do that.

I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling it to no
effect, and an internet search on "Windows Update loop"
gave my various other options to try to break the loop,
but nothing to date has worked.

If it was just a "Recommended" update I could knock it
out permanently in the Personalize Windows Update
section, but "Critical" updates can't be knocked out that
way. Can anyone offer any other suggestions to break the
loop?

[ KB835732 is also known as Microsoft Security Bulletin
MS04-011. I am running Win XP Service Pack 1 on an AMD
Athlon XP 2600+. ]

I've solved the problem with the assistance of Dan and
Geko on the MS Discussion Groups Windows Update forum.

The problem was that I had moved my Program Files
directory off of the C: drive onto a separate P: drive (P
for Programs). I had also removed NetMeeting, which may
have been a contributory factor.

Anyway, to fix the problem I copied three files:

callcont.dll
mst120.dll
nmcom.dll

from C:\Program Files\NetMeeting to my
P:\Program Files\NetMeeting directory (which was empty).
One more Windows Update reinstalled KB835732, tbut after
that it was happy and no longer offers me the update.

Success!

[MS doesn't seem to allow deep linking to Discussion
Groups messages, so if you want to see the discussion
that solved my problem, go to http://tinyurl.com/4gabn
and expand the topic "KB835732 PROBLEM SOLVED FOR
REAL!!!!!". Dan's opening post describes the problem (a
MS "oversight" for sure!), and Geko's post of 6/9/2004
provides a simpler solution that worked for me. Thanks to
both of you!]
