Think about... You invest in anti-virus and firewall applications &
spend hours installing patches & updates in an effort to prevent
unauthorized access your system then you turn around and install a P2P
application that opens a backdoor into the the very same system you're
trying to secure. Not a good idea in my book.

It's not a backdoor. It's a service just like file and printer
sharing. You just have to be careful what you download since the
origin is uncertain. As long as you stick with mp3's or the like there
won't be a problem with viruses and malware.

Yes, I know, there's a buffer overflow in unpatched xp systems mousing
over mp3 (tags).
