Kaspersky latest virus updates - definitions are "corrupted"

a problem with Kaspersky Personal 5.0 not updating

the new cumulative update is out today, but on downloading and installing,
it announces that it's "corrupted" and needs to be replaced

downloading the .zip file manually and installing seems to work -
selecting "test" in WinRAR announces that the .zip file itself is fine

( so, I'm sort of assuming that the problem may be an error by Kaspersky -
an incorrect hash value being distributed with the definitions ? )

anyone else having this problem ?

this is Kaspersky Personal 5.0 - build 227
and is the trial version with a week left to run,
so there *ought* not be any problem related to validity of the app itself

er... no it doesn't
that's the one that I downloaded

the .zip file downloads fine

testing with WinRAR announces "no errors"
but on installation - KAV 5 announces that the definitions are "damaged"
and need to be replaced

have you got this to work properly ?
and if so:

what version of KAV are you using
what build number ?
is your copy using the trial licence or a full licence ?

With me the URL mentioned did work. Added it to the list. KAV tried all the
other URL's first, untill it reached the new one.
Now, the 'normal' URL's do work fine again. They start a bit slow, but work
fine.
I use 4.5.0.94 full license.
