Kaspersky - Good!

I was at work the other day when a co worker was talking to me about his
messed up puter.. he said he used Norton's which I've not had much success
with (to be kind.) He said he was getting hijacked and weird stuff was
happening but norton's said his system was clean. 2 other co - workers
chimed in that norton's is great because it's never found anything on their
systems! (??? heh.)

Well, I got him (I've been using V5) a trial of Kaspersky and it found 29
virii & trojans on his system! It's running on my puter's without crashes. As
far as I'm concerned Kaspersky is El Perro Grande! The big dog! heh..It's
found stuff that Norton & McAfee have failed to... Why am I posting this?
I'm feeling the love [for KAV]! heh.. later all..

No doubt that KAV has always had great detection, but their interface
has gone to hell over the past couple of years. Until they return to
something similar to 3.5, I won't be using it.

I had a similar state of affairs running Norton AntiVirus (2000 - 2004).
Lots of times it would detect a virus and then not allow me to clean,
delete, or quarantine it, leaving it running amoke. I installed McAfee
and it was alot better, now using NOD32 and it's the dog's balls.

I use V3.5.133.0 with Windows98-SE and XP Pro with no difficulty.
Like yourself I abandoned V5.

You can use KAV 4.5 happily without the Control Center. You must
configure a bit more manually (schedule updates and scans manually
with Windows scheduler, but everything else is like before. And you
save some resources too not installing and running CC.

Wow, the 'pumpers' here are just about as bad as they are on the
financal message boards.
PS:What do you find fascinating about the "dog's balls"?
I really don't want to know. :)
