JVC digi cam & firewire

connecting by dv out to firewire port in Audiology sound
card JVC camera is not recognised as removable device. Any
ideas? i have hunted for JVC solutions and software
without joy. do i need to install drivers for dv in? help
apprciated.
 
This is not any help, however, if you get an answer or
work it out let me know I have the same problem.
