When I originally got my dell b130 laptop it had windows xp home addition
installed and dell did not send me a disk. then i upgraded to windows xp pro,
i recently had to reinstall windows and did so with the upgrade disk they
sent.
so far i just can't get on the net with the new windows.

will i have other problems with this install using the upgrade disk only.?
what can i expect?

After you install an operating system, you must then install all the
drivers for your hardware. This includes the chipset (motherboard),
audio, video, network, and any laptop-specific software (power
management, for ex.).

If you did not receive the Dell Resource CD which has these drivers, go
to Dell's tech support website for your specific model laptop and
download all the drivers and install them. Obviously you will need to do
this from a computer with an Internet connection and either burn the
drivers to CD-R or have a USB thumbdrive with enough capacity to
transfer the files.
