One of our clients, (server runs Exchange 2000,) running Outlook 2002 SP3,
cannot filter out any junk mail. Junk filters enabled, Set to High, Nothing
in Safe senders list - still receiving thousands of junk emails. When an
email is selected, right click, add to blocked senders - nothing happens.
All other clients on this server run Outlook 2003 SP3 without problems.
Unfortunately, this user cannot upgrade Outlook because of other office
product versions needed for older applications.
Can anyone help?

Is Outlook using Cached Exchange Mode?

A singularly poor and ineffective way to manage junk mail.

In Outlook 2002, I don't have the ability to turn CEM off or on. Any
suggestions?

Outlook 2002 doesn't really have a Junk E-mail filter (well, it does, but
it's next to worthless). You would need to be running Outlook 2003 to be
able to see a "High" setting for the Junk E-mail filter. Outlook 2002 also
doesn't have a "Blocked Sender" list. Instead it has a "Junk Senders" and
"Adult Senders" list. What you're saying is inconsistent.
What is an "effective" way to manage junk mail?

With Outlook 2002, a server-side junk mail filter would be best.

Can I upgrade only Outlook 2002 (Office XP suite) to Outlook 2003 (Office
2003 Suite) leaving the balance of the Office programs at 2002?

Yes, but you lose any integration with other Office programs. You won't be
able to use Word as your mail editor or perform mail merges, for example.
