jpg converted to win.dat file when sent to MAC.

I have a problem when I send a jpg file to a MAC machine using MAC email.
The jpg file is converted to a winfile.dat and when attempting to open it, a
popup says in can't be opened because it has a Chinese title. No problem
when sent to another Windows PC. I've checked my language settings on the
original computor and asian languages have not been installed. Any solutions?
