JPEGs become VB Script Files

B

Barry Moore

I've begun to download images from my digital camera.
They download nicely into .JPG files which are readily
viewed with the Photo Editor. Then, within minutes, they
mysteriously convert to VB Script Files (extension is
still .JPG) and are no longer viewable. This isn't
random; it's guaranteed to happen to every JPEG I
download. Any suggestions?

You have some variant of the LoveLetter virus.
Read the following article.

description of LoveLetter

You need to do a full system scan using the most
recent virus definitions immediately.
